Tania Munro
Owner
My name is Tania Munro and I am the proud owner of Total Rhythm Dance Studio in Carleton Place, ON.
Growing up in El Salvador, I started dancing at the early age of 6. I have continued my love of dancing by formally becoming a dance teacher in May 2001. I have been privileged enough to study dancing with some of the finest dancers in Canada. Dancing has always been my passion and I consider myself lucky to work doing something I love.
Teaching for me is a way of sharing with others all the joys that dancing has brought into my life. I offer my students professional instruction in a relaxed and private environment. You can expect a positive attitude, dedication, patience, and most importantly, guaranteed results.

Matthew Salama
I have been dancing for nearly 30 years and teaching for over 20 years. My passion is education and I love working with students to find the key to unlocking their dance potential. ‘Lightbulb moments’ bring me the greatest joy while teaching students! I love to have fun and work hard dancing, choreographing and coaching! I specialize in American Style however I do teach International Style as well.
My favourite dances are any type of Swing (Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing especially), Foxtrot, Samba, Argentine Tango (including Milonga and Tango Vals) and Samba.
I look forward to seeing you soon on the dance floor!
Kyla Hamilton-Bell
I have been a group fitness instructor for over 20 years. Teaching fitness classes and helping others in their fitness journey has always been my passion. I have also worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and retired 7 years ago. Helping people is what I like to do!
I’ve taught classes full time at local gyms and now I am semi-retired and only teaching 2 nights a week at Tania’s Total Rhythm Dance Studio.
Currently I’m teaching two aerobic step classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-5:45. If you are looking for a high energy cardio class, then come give it a try!
Kara Parisien
My name is Kara. I have loved to dance for as long as I can remember. My mom says I was dancing before I could walk. I have dabbled in a few different types of dance growing up. I tried ballet, tap, jazz, and step dancing. Eleven years ago I came to Carleton Place from Ottawa with my family.
I wanted to get into shape after having twin boys so I tried Zumba for the first time, and loved it. About a year later a position opened up at the studio to teach Zumba. I was offered the position, so I went to Kingston for training and received my Zumba certificate. That was July 2013. I have been running Zumba classes at the studio ever since. My dance experience has grown since being at the studio, thanks to Tania, I now have some ballroom dance experience as well. I am grateful to be part of Total Rhythm Dance Studio.
Stephanie MacGregor
Stephanie has been kicking up her boots with Just4Kixx for over 35 years, proving that a good beat and a great attitude can carry you through just about anything.
She’s known for turning every dance floor into her own personal joy zone, where the steps are sharp, the smiles are big, and the energy is contagious.
When she’s not dancing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave, and her Great Pyrenees, Bella, who is never far from her side. Life recently brought her a brand-new joy—she just became a gramma, which means there’s now a tiny human who will inevitably learn the Electric Slide before they can walk.
With decades of experience and a love for connection, Stephanie continues to inspire others through dance, friendship, and the simple happiness found in doing what you love.
